Sam Winchcombe is swimming the English Channel in September this year.
Local lad, Sam Winchcombe is taking on the mammoth task of swimming the English Channel this September. He’ll swim (at least) 33km this autumn, fundraising for Cancer Research UK.
Premier Coating & Converters will be donating to Sam’s fund, as well as raising awareness of Sam’s challenge as he nears the big day in September. Sam is aiming to raise £10,000 and at the time of writing, has 19% of his target secured. At PCC, we’re going to help him reach his target.

Sam is a close friend of our Business Development Manager Lewis Flood. Lewis and Sam went to school together and have been close ever since.
Lewis has provided some sponsorship materials to Sam, with PPG TESLIN® self-adhesive labels, attached to safety buoy travelling across the channel attached to Sam.
Sam has been training for months, this past weekend, Lewis visited Sam in Cornwall to cheer him on whilst he was training in Cornwall. You’ll see Sam in the above video with his inflatable boy attached.
Cancer Research UK provides vital finances to help to prevent, detect and treat cancer.
Over 403,000 people are diagnosed with cancer in the UK every year. Equating to one person being diagnosed every 80 seconds.
Sam is swimming the channel, because he understands the impact that cancer can have on peoples lives. Sam describes both of his grandfathers and “men of adventure, love and pure will”. “This 33km swim will be for them, and for everyone I love whose lives have been devastated by cancer.”
