New home compostable products in the PREMECO™ Range
The sustainable range that combines biodegradable and home compostable products, release liners and specialist adhesives. From materials with recycled content, to BS EN 13432 certified films, PREMECO™ showcases the very best ‘green’ materials the market has to offer.
Back in 2021, our Managing Director expressed his pride, commenting on the relationship we had built with Bio4life, based in The Netherlands: “being able to lead the way in sustainable technology is incredibly important to us and this is just one of the many reasons we are excited to working alongside Bio4life”.
These aren’t just words. This statement has been solidified further in 2025. We met with Bio4life to congratulate them at Labelexpo Europe four years later, as they collected their Global Sustainability Award from Labels and Labeling. The same week, we announced a new adhesive addition to our PREMECO™ range; BioTAK® HC700. Meaning that combined with our substrates and liners, we are able to produce a fully certified home compostable material from our UK base.
🛢️About the adhesive we use for compostable combinations
We use both BioTAK® S100/XS102 and BioTAK® HC700 combine Bio4life’s BioTAK® HC700 adhesive with our world-renowned substrates.
BioTAK® S100/XS102 complies with EN13432 (industrially compostable). On top of EN13432 BioTAK® HC700 complies AS5810:2010 & NF T51-800:2015 (home compostable).
As is stated on Bio4life’s website: “BioTAK® adhesives are waterborne PSA based on a specially modified acrylic co-polymer. The adhesive is permanently tacky with a strong initial tack and adheres on a wide variety of substrates. […] The adhesive is certified to EN13432 and complies with EC1935/2004 & FDA (175.105) for direct food applications.”~

About the face stocks we use for compostable combinations
Just one of the face stocks we use is the Natureflex white material, supplied by Futamura. Natureflex is a cellulose film made from wood fibres.
Combined with BioTAK® HC700, this is a fully certified compostable label stock product. The material itself is completely free of wood and has a natural feel.
